You’ve probably heard about CBD oil lately, because everyone talks about it! But what is it? And how do you use it? We will explain the basics in this article!
What is CBD oil & how to use it?
Let’s start with looking at what CBD oil is. CBD oil is a supplement that you can take. It contains CBD (also known as “Cannabidiol”), a compound of the hemp plant. CBD oil has many potential benefits! CBD oil is usually taken sublingual, which means placing it under your tongue so it can absorb that way. You can also use the oil in foods or drinks. However, because of the ‘bio-availability’, CBD oil is more effective when taken sublingual than when swallowing directly. CBD can also be taken in other forms than oil. Examples are edibles (such as gummies/candies) and topical products for your skin!
Does CBD oil make you high & test positive?
CBD doesn’t make you high, THC is the compound in cannabis that makes you high. There no or only very little THC in CBD oil! There are different forms of CBD, such as isolate (which exist of only CBD), full spectrum (which contains all the compounds of the hemp plant) and broad spectrum (which contains all the compounds except THC). Full spectrum has the most powerful potential benefits as all the compounds can work together. However, because it contains a trace amount of THC, it can make you test positive on a drug-test. That’s why there are isolate and broad spectrum; since they contain no THC, they also won’t make you test positive on a drug test! These are things to consider when choosing a CBD product.
